Nihon-ma on the island

Essentially an exercise in interior design, this room was transformed from an upstairs bedroom into a Nihon-ma or Japanese room for the clients use as an O-cha (tearoom). As you'll see from the before pictures the room was much improved with a cedar ceiling, sao, tansu, shoji and tatami.

The made to order shoji door and window screens are from Shoji Designs Inc.
